When your baby is just born and has crossed 1 month, he is said to be in the birth stage of the growth cycle. The baby, during this stage, is trying to get accustomed to the world around him and is the most attached to his mother as she is the only who offers shelter, care and food to the baby. If you’re a parent of a newborn, you need to bear in mind that the baby is at that stage where he is trying to recognize faces. At 2-5 months of age, he will try to babble and coo and you should take note of all the sounds made by him. The baby then starts developing his motor skills where he tries to lift his head to sleep on his tummy. He will also start developing few reflexes as well.
BABY DEVELOPMENT STAGE
When your baby is in between 1-12 months of age, they’re said to belong to the ‘baby development stage’. At this stage, the babies will begin to understand their own bodies and will gradually improve on their motor skills. If you give them a prop, they will be able to sit up straight for few seconds though they’ll find it tough to balance. At this stage, babies love putting everything into their mouth as they start teething. By the time they reach 7-12 months of age, they begin to recognize names and also understand few common words.
When your baby is between 1 and 3 years of age, they’re in their toddler stage. Parents need to keep a close watch on their babies during this stage as they learn to walk around and hence become vulnerable to falls and tripping overs. You can give them stationery toys like building blocks or crayons so that they are bound to sit at one place and also promote mental development at the same time. During this phase, you can take out some time and speak to them so that you can help in developing their language skills.
In between the ages of 3 and 5 years, the child is no longer a baby. He is on his own and while he can run around on his own, he can also have conversations. Parents need to teach them the basic learning skills so that they can get admitted in schools.
Hence, being a parent you have to be aware of the various stages through which your baby develops so that you’re able to cater to their needs and help them in every way possible.
